In Spring 1991 Andreas
Baumann(CH) and I were
travelling with a vase form
(height=60cm weight=60kg)
of cast aluminium to the
desert Sahara in Algeria .
The goal of the travel was
to find a personal *final* point
of the trip. At this site we
would fix the vaseform
and leave it back.
On the journey from Vienna via France, Spain, Marocco...to the desert we also photographed the main crossroads which
we passed, thus documenting not only the geographic path taken, but also the path
of decision to the final mounting site, comparing it to a binary code. Finally we left the vase-form back near the
abandoned Oase Tadjemouth, at the nothern foot of Hoggar, Algeria.
